In the centre of the Village, more or less opposite the shops, the Parish Council manage a Children’s Play Area (which is a dog free zone) and contains large and small swings, a roundabout and large and small climbing apparatus plus some other elements such as rockers.

Outside the play area is a large slide, a zip wire, a checkerboard hard play surface with basketball rings, a boules/petanque surface and “teen” shelter.

There are also 2 piece of exercise equipment suitable for adults, including a chest press, and leg raise.

Across the bottom of the field there is a full-size goal mouth, with astro turf, used for goal kicking practice.

A “Scout Hut”, owned and run by the Scouting group, is located at the bottom left-hand side of the field at the end of the “Scout Path” and is used by uniformed organisations for Scout/Guide etc gatherings.

The Parish Council also recently purchased Peartree Field, which is located opposite the Old Post Office on the Doddinghurst Road.  This is for the benefit of parishioners to use for recreational activities.
